Ashley Jones
Mansfield, Georgia native Ashley Jones has quickly made a name for herself among barrel racers and fans throughout the Southeast. Unlike many of the top barrel racers in the country today, Ashley did not begin riding a horse from the time she could walk nor did she begin racing at a young age.
Her love of horses was instant after a school field trip to a horse rescue facility. She began riding shortly thereafter and quickly fell in love with the sport of barrel racing. Since her start, Ashley has qualified for numerous NBHA State and World Finals. She finished in the top 20 Youth World the last two years she was eligible. Her success carried over into rodeos having qualified for the SPRA Finals and ending the season in the top 5. Placings in individual rodeos have been too many to count and have included pulling checks in the PRCA against the best in the business. She finished her rookie season in the WPRA as the number three ranked rookie in the Southeast, and in the top twenty rookies in the world. In 2021 she qualified for the PRCA SE Circuit Finals, finishing fourth in the average.
Even with her quick success, Ashley will be the first to tell you she learns something new every time she throws her leg over a horse. This humility has also helped her as she interacts with people throughout the communities she travels. She never meets a stranger, and to know Ashley is to love her. Sponsors enjoy seeing her interacting with fans and representing their products in such a positive light, but for Ashley, she is just being herself.
The spotlight and public eye are nothing new to Ashley. She has grown up around and in front of the camera on her uncle’s top rated nationally aired hunting TV show, Unlimited Outdoors. Meeting the public with a big smile and taking time out to make new friends has been a way of life for her from a very young age. Millions have watched her grow up in front of the camera hunting with her uncle as a small child to becoming the beautiful, driven, young lady she is today.
Next to her faith, family has played the most pivotal role in shaping the person Ashley has become. Her uncle was paralyzed from a fall when he was only nine years old. Through him, and her family who have always rallied around and supported each other, she has learned the importance of hard work and having a never giving up attitude. She carries these same traits into her barrel racing career and the clear vision God has provided for her life.
Ashley takes on many more responsibilities than a typical person her age. Besides working with Unlimited Outdoors, she has devoted much of her time to her family’s foundation, Triumph Over Tragedy Foundation. The nonprofit helps to restore hope to families affected by spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries. She was an integral part at a live fundraising event put on by the foundation in conjunction with MGM Grand and National Ropers Supply (NRS) at the National Finals Rodeo (NFR). She worked hand in hand with foundation board members including 4X World Champion Tie Down Roper Tuf Cooper, NASCAR’s Jeff Hammond, and 9X UFC World Champion Matt Hughes to raise awareness and raise money to help families affected by spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries.
Ever since a young age, Ashley has watched her family use their platform to share their story. Now is the time for her to begin sharing hers. It’s not only her ability on a horse, but her ability off that has provided her with the opportunity to represent many great companies in the arena, as well as, through print modeling and appearances.
Watch for Ashley in the years to come, and join now in supporting her vision to reach millions with her story.
